This is a question that many can answer with a definite reply. Some people are purely in to seeing ladies smoke cigarettes, whether that is a cork, all white, More or 120. Some people are not in to cigarettes at all and purely enjoy seeing women smoke cigars. It is a very diverse question, but I believe that a majority of fetishers like to see cigarettes being smoked. I have been interested and part of the smoking fetish for many years now and one thing I have noticed is how easily it fits in with other fetishes. My only interest is really the smoking fetish, although I am partial to ladies with blonde hair, but other fetishers extend their passion to other fetishes. For example smoking can be easily incorporated in to the femdom scene, foot fetish, pregnant fetish and many others.
Has this integration in to other mainstream fetishes made the smoking fetish more popular? Or is it because of the popularity of the smoking fetish that it has been introduced in to the other fetishes? I am not sure, but it can be found in many other niches so it must be liked by people.

I believe that one of the main factors for making the smoking fetish more popular is the availability and accessibility of material on the internet. Back in the early 1990’s the internet became common place in peoples lives, with the dot com explosion more people were aware that the internet held lots of potential for finding what they wanted.
Early fetish groups formed from bulletin boards to alt. boards. These started off quite primitively but over time evolved with the demand of people wanting to see smoking material and in most cases developed by fetishers. Smoking fetish material is now everywhere and I think that the smoking fetish can be classed as a mainstream fetish nowadays. From commercial sites to social networking sites the fetish can be found. A good example is YouTube, there is an awful lot of material there and is available to everyone even if you have never heard of the smoking fetish before.
Even in real life you can witness ladies smoking everywhere, especially now the smoking bans have forced smokers on to the streets. Sightings of smokers can be found outside offices, shops and pubs. It is quite easy to find a group of smoking women, even without trying.

To me the smoking fetish is about enjoying the sight of females smoking. This can be in real life or through media on the internet. It is a turn on to see such sights and this can be anything from a woman just holding a cigarette, to taking deep hard drags and then exhaling.
Smoking fetishism has a fancy name, which I didn’t know about until a few years back. It is called capnolagnia. This is derived from the Greek terms, capnos – smoke and lagnia – sexual desire. Most definitions on the net agree that capnolagnia is a sexual fetish based on the sight or image of a person smoking tobacco mainly cigarettes but can include cigars, pipes, hookahs and cigarette holders. Most smoking fetishers are predominantly heterosexual males viewing females smoking but can also be females watching males, males watching males and females watching females. There are many other aspects of the smoking fetish which I will discuss in future posts but for now a definition as such was needed as an introduction to this blog.
